Samsung Galaxy J5 & J7 w/ Front-Facing LED Flash

Samsung has unveiled two new Android 5.1 Lollipop-powered devices in China: one is a phablet and the other is a smartphone. They are the Galaxy J7 and the Galaxy J5, respectively. Targeted at the younger crowd, both handsets feature wide-angle selfie cameras with a front-facing LED flash. They are the first Samsung devices to ever sport such a feature.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 is the larger of the two. It is a phablet with a 5.5-inch display of 720p HD resolution. It is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor with 1.5GB RAM and 16GB of expandable native storage. As mentioned, it will come with a 5-MP wide-angle selfie camera with LED flash and also a 13-MP rear camera with a f/1.9 aperture and LED flash as well. Connectivity options include LTE and dual-SIM support. A 3,000 mAh battery will keep its lights on.

Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy J5 comes with a more modest 5-inch display of 720p HD resolution. Since it has a smaller screen than the Galaxy J7 but of the same resolution, then the Galaxy J5's screen would have a higher pixel density. Powering the smartphone is a 64-bit quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor with 1.5GB RAM and 16GB of expandable native storage. It will have the same camera setup (including the selfie camera with LED flash) and connectivity features of the larger Galaxy J7. A 2,600 mAh battery will keep the its lights on.
