Big Hero 6 is a 2014 American 3D computer animated superhero film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios. The film was inspired by the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name, which tells the story of a young robotics prodigy named Hiro Hamada, who forms a superhero team to combat a masked villain responsible for the death of his brother, Tadashi. The film debuted topping the North American box office and was met with positive reviews.

The story goes like this: A special bond develops between Baymax, a plus-sized inflatable robot, and prodigy Hiro Hamada. When a devastating event befalls the city of San Fransokyo and catapults Hiro into the midst of danger, he turns to Baymax and his close friends adrenaline junkie Go Go Tomago, neatnik Wasabi, chemistry whiz Honey Lemon and fanboy Fred. Determined to uncover the mystery, Hiro transforms his friends into a band of high-tech heroes called Big Hero 6.

Big Hero 6 is of animation, action, sci-fi, comedy, family genre, which runs for approximately 102 minutes. It's rated PG in most countries for action, peril, some rude humor, and thematic elements. I was not familiar with Big Hero 6 or even Baymax until I had the chance to see this film. Speaking of Baymax, he is just so cute and huggable. I need someone like Baymax who will take care of me and comfort me when I'm down. Back to the movie, it was pretty entertaining and action-packed. I was touched by several scenes, i.e. when Tadashi died, when Baymax showed Hiro a video of Tadashi, and when Baymax got destroyed together with the portal. This is one of the best animated films of the year. All in all, it's a very good movie that's perfect for the whole family.

RATING: 4.5 out of 5 STARS
