Meizu MX4 Pro Debuts w/ Exynos Chipset

Meizu has finally launched the more powerful version of its MX4 flagship, the MX4 Pro. The MX4 Pro resembles the original MX4 a lot. The difference is that the former comes with a larger 5.5-inch JDI-made touch screen of Quad HD resolution and a slightly redesigned home button. The Meizu MX4 Pro measures 150.1 mm x 77 mm x 9 mm and weighs 158 grams, making it thicker and heavier than the MX4. It has a screen-to-body ratio of 76.5%, which is impressive.

Ticking inside it is a Samsung-made Exynos 5430 chipset. It is the first 20nm chipset with four Cortex-A15 cores clocked at 2.0GHz and another four Cortex-A7 cores clocked at 1.5GHz. All in all, it has eight cores that work in accordance with the big.LITTLE technology. As for its GPU, it is equipped with a Mali T628 MP6 clocked at 600MHz. 3GB RAM is on board and there is either 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB of built-in non-expandable storage.

Imaging-wise, the MX4 Pro comes with 20.7-MP Sony IMX220 Exmor RS camera sensor, protected by sapphire glass. The sensor has a 5-element, 300-degree panoramic lens with an aperture of F/2.2 and a fast, 0.3-second auto-focus. capable of 4K video recording, with dual-tone flash, and features a 100fps burst shooting mode. The front camera is 5-MP and has a 4-element lens with an 84.4-degree wide-angle sensor. Connectivity-wise, it has everything that a modern flagship smartphone should have - dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz/5GHz), LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, GPS, A-GPS, Glonass, etc. The MX4 Pro boots Android 4.4.4 KitKat with Meizu's own Flyme OS on top. Everything will be powered by a 3,350 mAh battery.

The mTouch, a fingerprint sensor, is a new feature of the MX4 Pro. It has a sensitivity of 508ppi, meaning that it will detect your fingerprint even if your finger is wet or a little dirty. Meizu has also integrated the TI OPA1612 amplification chip, an advanced DAC master clock architecture, and other Hi-Fi goodies in the MX4 Pro for an exceptional audio output. It is expected to launch first in China and will cost $410, It will come in grey, sand yellow, and white color variants.
