Restaurant Review: Oliva Bistro Cafe

Oliva Bistro Cafe is a casual restaurant showcasing the authentic flavors of Asian (Filipino, Indian, Thai, Japanese) and Western (American, Italian, Greek, Mediterranean) cuisine in the Philippines. The branch that I tried is the one located in Marcos Highway, Pasig City, which happens to have a music pub where live bands perform, but they also have another branch at Visayas Avenue, Quezon City. It is very easy to locate, just beside Barrio Fiesta, inside the compound where Slimmers World Pasig is.

It is a spacious restaurant that is air-conditioned and well-lit. It even has a music pub where one can drink while listening to performing artists. The restaurant can probably accommodate 80 to 100 people. In terms of interior design, there is not much going on and the glass windows need some cleaning. The tables are clean though and the chairs are quite comfy to sit on. They do have a restroom for guests. As for the staff, they have a large manpower but they all seem busy doing something. Good thing is that they seem to be somehow knowledgeable about their menu but there's still room for improvement.

As mentioned, their menu is quite diverse covering several cuisines. From Singapore Hainanese Chicken Rise to Pasta Oliva to Chicken Teriyaki to Baby Back Ribs and Roti Prata with Curry Sauce, no matter where you are from, there should be something in there that you will like. They serve pasta, salads, burgers, seafood, meat, and seemingly sumptuous desserts. Waiting time varies depending on the order - about 15 minutes to 20 minutes on average. We ordered Fettucine with Chicken in Basil Pesto Cream and Tandoori Chicken Tikka, which can be served mild or spicy. Both dishes are good. The pasta is really yummy while the tandoori chicken tikka is really tender. Aside from appetizers, main courses, and desserts, they also have a bar, where they serve wine and other spirits. We went there for a second time. We ordered Fettucine with Salmon and Spinach, Baby Back Ribs, Chicken Masala, Buttered Prawns, and Fish Fillet. All are good but nothing spectacular.

Oliva Bistro Cafe and Gastro Music Pub is perfect for groups of friends and young professionals who like to eat good food at a decent price. Budget needed is about PhP300 per person on average. They accept cash and credit card transactions. They are open daily from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM (probably later on weekends). They accept reservations, walk-ins, deliveries, and take-outs. Parking is available outside the restaurant and it's free.
