The story goes like this: It was supposed to be a simple job. All Lucy had to do was deliver a mysterious briefcase to Mr. Jang. But immediately Lucy is caught up in a nightmarish deal where she is captured and turned into a drug mule for a new and powerful synthetic drug. When the bag she is carrying inside of her stomach leaks, Lucy's body undergoes unimaginable changes that unlocks her mind's full potential 100%. With her new-found powers, Lucy turns into a merciless warrior intent on getting back at her captors. She receives invaluable help from Professor Norman, the leading authority on the human mind, and French police captain Pierre Del Rio.

Lucy is of action, sci-fi genre, which runs for approximately 89 minutes. It's rated R-13 or R-18 in most countries for strong violence, disturbing images, and sexuality. I really have no idea why I watched the film. I even thought it was a horror or thriller movie at first. Obviously, I was wrong because it is a hardcore sci-fi film that has its fair share of interesting and boring parts. Among the interesting segments were scenes showing how Lucy maximized her brain's capacity and showing some of her superhuman powers. The boring ones include the confusing story line, along with dull acting especially those of the antagonists. But at least the special effects used were cool. Still, at the end, it seems that there was a lot lacking in the film but it wasn't that bad either. The film is available in 2D and Dolby Atmos.

RATING: 3 out of 5 STARS

i agree. the storyline was confusing. there were quite a lot of boring parts. i had expected more from the director of Natalie Portman's "The Professional". Kind of a waste, i'd say, of Scarlett Johansson.
